I have been dating a guy who is a monster...?

I have been dating a guy online for almost 10 months now.During my school spring break, he asked me to come visit him.A day before I will go visit him, he told me that someone shot him ,so I shouldn't come, and I said okay.He was hospitalized for a months.After he was discharged from the hospital, he told me he was on his way to come see me.He promised me so many things and he have called me only once.I have never seen him on cam.All that I have seen is his pictures.He spend so many days on the road because he was hurting from the surgery he had.Now, he was supposed to be with me on the 21st of this month.He sent me an offline messages saying he is in town so he will be with me soon, I couldn't heard from him until the next day when his friend told me that he just too my boyfriend to the airport because he had a call from his brother saying his daughter had Leukemia so they needed him.Do you think this guy is telling me the truth or he he is just playing games with me?
