Should I be friends with my ex-boyfriend?

Personally I am almost always against being friends with exes. In your case, I am especially against it. Your reasoning is understandable, but it sounds like you still have feelings for him which would make a friendship difficult, and might lead to more dating only to end in the same heartbreak. It sounds to me like you two need some distance.
