How can I get my mom to take my almost 5 month old kitten to the vet? Please help!?

My kitten seems healthy but I think she should go to the vet anyway, for shots, and just a health check up. My mom keeps procrastinating and its making me angry. I know shes not sick, but still its just humane to get check ups. I have had a cat that I was in love with before who seemed extremely healthy but one day just got sick and died. It broke my heart. My mom never took that one to the vet and she was just 2 years old. My aunt said she may have had feline leukemia. I really need some help..
